Quick answers: family visas in Bahrain

Short, factual answers to the questions clients ask us most. Government fees and rules can change; we confirm the current position before you apply.

Who can sponsor a family visa in Bahrain?

A resident whose net monthly salary registered with the Social Insurance Organisation is at least BHD 400 can apply, through the employer, for dependant residence permits for a spouse and children (LMRA guidance, September 2026). Meeting the salary level does not guarantee approval.

Can I sponsor children over 24?

Children are covered by the LMRA dependant service up to age 24. Applications for dependants over 24 go to the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) under its own conditions, which we check for your case.

Can I bring my parents to Bahrain?

Parents and other relatives are not automatically eligible under the dependant services. NPRA decides these cases on their own conditions, so we review your situation before any application is made.

What documents are needed for a Bahrain family visa?

Passports valid for at least six months, photos, health insurance valid for the whole permit period, an attested marriage certificate for a spouse or attested birth certificate for a child, and custody or consent documents where needed.

Can my spouse work on a family visa?

A dependant residence permit is not a work permit. To work in Bahrain your spouse needs a separate work permit from an employer through LMRA, which we can also arrange.
